• Rob joined the Warrior Track team in 1976 and spent five seasons representing Waterloo (’76-’79, ’80-’82) before graduating as a Doctor of Optometry in 1982
• Rob competed in the Pentathlon and Decathlon events over his career. His great athletic ability rewarded Rob with 11 OUAA gold medals, 5 OUAA silver medals, and 3 OUAA Bronze Medals
• Rob was the UW record holder in shot put for 19 seasons before it was broken during the 2006 season
• On top of Rob’s UW track and field achievements, he also competed for Canada in the 1978 Commonwealth Games where he finished 6th in the Decathlon, the 1979 FISU Games in Mexico City where he finished 10th in the Decathlon.
• Rob was also named the 1979 Canadian Indoor pentathlon Champion and the 1981 Canadian Decathlon Champion respectfully
• Rob missed his chance in 1980 to compete for Canada in the Olympics due to the Canadian boycott of the Moscow games
• Rob retired from competition 1984 and moved back to his home town of Orillia to take over his father’s optometry practice
