The Rise-Up program is a peer mentorship program that connects incoming first-year student-athletes with an upper-year mentor. Mentors are fellow student-athletes from the same faculty on various varsity teams.
- The goal of the Rise-up program is to support first year student-athletes by providing information specific to varsity athletes (e.g., eligibility, athletic therapy, strength and conditioning & more), as well as sharing general and academic resources available on campus. Additionally, Rise-Up helps to build a support network by introducing first-year student-athletes with fellow athletes on other teams who are going through similar experiences.
- The Rise-Up program pairs a small group of incoming student-athletes with a mentor in a similar program. Mentors help connect first-year athletes to tutoring services, mental health support, and more. But, they can also just suggest the best place to study or grab a bite to eat!
- Each term we host various large group events. In the past we have hosted dodge-ball tournaments, movie nights, etc. We also touch-in regularly through email, and will be having regular small group virtual hang-outs this year as well
