• Don took over as Head coach of Warrior Men’s Hockey in 1985 after coaching at the junior level in Guelph, Kitchener, and Cambridge
• Don guided the Warriors to 13 winning seasons with an overall record of 201 wins, 84 loses, and 29 ties
• Don lead the Warriors to two OUAA West Championship in 1991 and 1995, one OUAA Championship in 1995, and two National Championship appearances in 1991 and 1995
• Don left Warrior hockey after the 1997-1998 season with 8 Warrior Hockey records: Most Seasons Coached - 13, Most Games Coached - 314, Most Wins - 201, Most Points - 431, Most Points in one season - 44, Most Play-off appearances - 13, Most Consecutive Winning Seasons - 13, Most Appearances in National Championships - 2.
• Don was awarded The Father Kehoe Memorial Trophy in 1995 as the CIAU Coach of the Year
• Following his time at Waterloo Don went on to Coach in England for one season before taking the position of Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations for the Odessa Jackalopes of the Central Hockey League for the start of the 1999-2000 season. At the time of induction Don remains coaching with Odessa
