• First recipient of the Tom Bate Memorial Trophy, awarded to the student who, in his graduating year, best combined academics and athletics and who was deemed most likely to succeed in the CFL.
• Played two seasons for the Ottawa Rough Riders of the CFL following graduation.
• In 1990, Kirk was named Ontario Coach of the Year in Track and Field.
• At the time of induction, he is the Director of Athletics at the Toronto French School.
• Graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Kinesiology), 1976.
