Jean Howitt was a star for the Warriors field hockey team from 1981-83. Howitt played an important role in developing the popularity of the field hockey program and solidifying the base to allow the program to flourish for years to come. Howitt was one of the most skilled and competitive field hockey players in the country and competed at the club, provincial, national and international level. As a member of Team Ontario, she has won 12 golds, which includes competition with the under 19/21 teams as well with the Junior and Senior Programs. She also competed on the international stage as a member of Team Canada's Junior and Senior Teams, including preparation for Olympic competition in 1980. Howitt was a tremendous leader and teammate, always making those around her better, and laid a solid foundation for the field hockey program that continues to compete at the university level today.
