The Warriors are excited to announce the addition of Tony Awad (Oakville, ON) to their roster for 2020. Awad played all his youth soccer at Oakville Soccer Club and currently competes for them in the U18 Golden Horseshoe Elite Division.
"I have watched Tony develop over the last couple of years into a very competent goalkeeper, then he raised his profile when he progressed into the final stages of the CPL tryouts at the Hamilton Forge. When he attended our weekend residential recruit camp last May he impressed our Warrior GK coach and became one of our top recruiting priorities" commented head coach
Mark Worton.
Â
"Having had the chance to play for coach Worton at OSC, I was attracted by his coaching style which focused on self discipline, teamwork and professionalism. Having seen the Warriors play, made me realize that this is what I wanted. I look forward to playing in the 2020 season with my new teammates" noted Awad.
I have always wanted to be a student-athlete within one of Canada's top ranked universities, where I would be able to cultivate my academic experience as well as pursue my athletic dreams. Joining the University of Waterloo and being part of the varsity soccer team fulfills my ambitions"Â added Awad.
Â
"We are happy to have a very well rounded individual wanting to attend UW and with his positive attitude will ensure he has a great varsity soccer experience. We look forward to working with him" concluded Worton.
