Schafer, Tep-Chhun named W Store Warriors Athletes of the Week, presented by Imprint

WATERLOO, Ont. - Men's Soccer's Sam Schafer and Women's Golf's Jadelina Tep-Chhun have been named the W Store Warriors Athletes of the Week, presented by Imprint.

Schafer, a second-year goalkeeper form Kitchener, kept a clean sheet in Saturday's rain-soaked OUA quarterfinal win over Brock.

"Sam has been a key player all season helping the squad progress to the OUA semifinals making many significant saves to keep the ball out of the net," said Warriors men's soccer Head Coach Jon Morgan

After defeating the Badgers 3-0, the Warriors face #3 Toronto on the road Saturday, October 25 at 7:30 PM for a chance to advance to the OUA final.

This is Schafer's first Warriors Athlete of the Week award.

Men's soccer will be hoping to add their name alongside women's golf as 2025 OUA champions. Jadelina Tep-Chhun led the Warriors to their first provincial gold medal since 2011 at Watson's Glen Golf Club in Pickering, Ont. this past weekend.

The first-year kinesiology major carded scores of 77 and 76 for a two-day total of 153, earning her an individual silver medal and an OUA first team all-star nod.

"Jadelina has been a powerful force for the Women's Golf Team all season," said Warriors women's golf Head Coach Carla Munch. "Leading her team to an OUA Gold Medal and earning an individual silver medal in her rookie season, Jadelina has a bright future ahead of her as a Waterloo Warrior."

This is Tep-Chhun's second Warriors Athlete of the Week award.
