Mark Worton enters his fourth season with the Warriors after spending two seasons (2015, 2016) as the assistant coach of the Guelph Gryphons. He has over 40 years of soccer experience as a former professional player, an active youth soccer coach, and an instructor with the Ontario Soccer Association.
Worton led the Warriors to an impressive 6-7-3 record in 2018 and was named the OUA West Coach of the Year. His squad went on to upset the No. 8 McMaster Marauders in the first round of the playoffs to reach the OUA quarter-finals where they fell to the eventual OUA gold medallists, York Lions.
Worton has coached at the Oakville Soccer Club for the past 20 years competing in the Ontario Youth Soccer League (OYSL) and Ontario Player Development League (OPDL), the highest level of soccer in the province.
Born in England, Worton played semi-professionally before coming to Canada in 1989, where he played for the Hamilton Steelers and London Lasers in the Canadian Soccer League.
Worton holds a Canadian Soccer A License, United States Soccer Federation A License and completed his UEFA A License in Northern Ireland in September 2020.
