First half brilliance leads Warriors past Hawks

Box Score
The Waterloo men's soccer team picked up their first win of the season in style topping cross-town rivals Laurier 4-0.

Waterloo scored early and often in the opening half with Jae Jin Lee (Toronto) leading the way with goals at the 5 and 35 minute marks.

Yusuf Khaled (Burlington) provided a brilliant goal at the 40th minute off a free kick.  The third year management engineering student booted one from 30 feet out into the top right corner as Laurier keeper Ryan Mantric could only stand and watch helplessly.

Nicholas Ribeiro (Bolton) provided the other goal (32') for the black and gold to give Waterloo the 4-0 victory and their first win of the season.

Hansel Paico-Avilez (Oakville) was credited with the win but had to come out late in the second half due to an injury.  Tristan VanderHoef (Kitchener) came in and closed out the shutout win.

Waterloo will be back at Warrior Field tomorrow to take on Guelph at 3:15pm.
