Box Score The Waterloo men's soccer team got off to a great start on Sunday at Warrior Field in competition with the Brock Badgers but gave up two second half goals to fall to 2-7-0 on the season. With the win Brock improved to 2-8-0.
Waterloo jumped out to the 1-0 lead in the 22
nd minute as
Mohammad Amin Nafar (Jeddah) floated in the corner kick and
Logan Phenuff (Prince George) did the rest heading it in for his first of the season. The Warriors kept the pressure on for the remainder of the half as
Yusuf Khaled (Burlington) and
Jae Jin Lee (Toronto) had golden opportunities to extend the Warrior lead but they could not find the net and the score would remain 1-0 into half.
The Badgers would come out firing in the second half and found the equalizer just 10 minutes into the half as Omar Hamadi (55') put one in past
Hansel Paico-Avilez (Oakville).
The two combatants would exchange chances for the next 25 minutes until Eric Serafino found the go ahead goal for the visitors in the 83
rd minute to secure the 2-1 win for his Badgers.
Waterloo, who has now lost three straight, will look to rebound in Sault Ste. Marie next weekend with back-to-back games against the Algoma Thunderbirds. Â
