Ridgebacks top Warriors 2-1

Game Summary

Erik Petrovic (Oshawa, Ont.) of the UOIT Ridgebacks scored in the final minute of the men's soccer game between Waterloo and UOIT to hand the Warriors the 2-1 loss.

The Warriors were outplayed from start to finish being outshot 7-1 to lose their seventh game of the season.  Waterloo is now 1-7-0 on the season while the Ridgebacks are one better with a 2-6-0 record.

Justin Gordon (Pickering, Ont.) opened the scoring in the opening two minutes of the game, his second of the season to give the Ridgebacks the early lead.   

UOIT would hold much of the pressure well into the second half but Waterloo substitution, Arman Grewal (Mississauga/) would put home a penalty kick in 80th minute to even the game at one.  Unfortunately for Waterloo, Petrovic would give UOIT the 2-1 lead nine minutes later and the visiting side would hold on for the win.

Waterloo is back at it on Friday as they face cross-town Rivals Laurier on Friday night before travelling to Oshawa on Saturday for a rematch with the Ridgebacks.
