WATERLOO, Ont. – Men's Fencing's Jiaan Li (Markham/Unionville High School) and Badminton's Liam Zhang (Richmond Hill/Bayview Secondary School) have been named the W Store Warriors Athletes of the Week, presented by Imprint. 

Both players helped their teams to OUA Team silver medals at their respective championships over the weekend. 

Li was lightning quick in Individual Foil, taking the competition by storm and dominating everyone who set foot in front of him. He finished in first place, winning gold on Saturday. He was once again dominant in Sunday's Team Relay Foil event, and continuously brought his team back from behind in scoring. His overall performance could not have ended in a more storybook fashion, as Li scored the winning points resulting in the Team Relay Foil gold medal. 

Li was also named an OUA Fencing all-star and helped the Warriors finish second overall at the OUA Men's Fencing Championships. 

This is Li's first Warriors Athlete of the Week award. 

Zhang was a key factor in the Warriors winning the OUA silver medal. The rookie could not be defeated, in duos Zhang and his partner Michael Ji (Richmond Hill/Richmond Hill High School) were living up to their OUA all-star status and kept the Warriors alive in the finals against the University of Toronto. While in singles, Zhang could not be stopped, going 3-0. 

"It was an incredible undefeated showing at OUAs for first-year rookie" said Warriors Badminton Head Coach Andrew Zhuang. 

This is Zhang's first Warriors Athlete of the Week award.
