The Waterloo Warriors fencing team delivered strong performances at the 2024 Brock Open, held November 16-17 at Brock University. Competing against top talent, the Warriors showcased skill and determination throughout the weekend.

On Saturday, Richard Yang (Markham) led the way with a first place finish in men's saber, while teammate Simon Li (Shenzhen) earned silver, placing two Warriors on the podium. Daniel Manyoki also impressed, securing sixth place in the same event. In men's épée, James Hong (Oakville) claimed a sixth place finish, and Evangeline Dryburgh (Marmora) matched that result in women's foil with a solid display of technique.

Sunday's events saw James Li finish tenth in men's foil, demonstrating resilience in a highly competitive field. In women's saber, Jeanette Huang (Belleville) capped off the weekend with a sixth place finish, continuing the team's strong overall performance.

The Warriors will look to build on their success when they travel to London, Ontario, for the Western Open, taking place December 2-3, 2024.
