Head coach of the men's soccer program Mark Worton found his first career U SPORTS win on Saturday after his squad shutout the Algoma Thunderbirds 2-0 up in Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday afternoon.  

Yusuf Khaled (Burlington/) scored in the 12th and 21st minute and that was all the offence the black and gold needed for their first three points of the young OUA season.  In net Damian Kruschat (Kitchener/) earned his first career win and shutout with the Warriors, stopping all five shots faced.  

On Sunday, Waterloo could not repeat their magic on Saturday with a tough 3-2 loss to the T-Birds.  Santiago Gordillo (Toronto/) and Matthew Cimino (Guelph/) found the net for Waterloo but Algoma held on late for the win.

Waterloo will now return home for their first home match of the season on Sunday as they welcome cross-town rivals Laurier to Warrior Field.  Kickoff is set for 3:15pm.
