On March 12 and 13, the Waterloo Warriors Lifesaving Club (WWLC) traveled to the Township of Georgina to defend their tittle at the Ontario University Lifesaving Championships (OULC).  This was the last university competition of the 2015-2016 season culminating in an overall university champion and in determining the U-League champion. Two Waterloo teams participated, competing against teams from Ottawa, Queens, McMaster and Ryerson.  Waterloo was represented by "Fifty Shades of Neon" made up of Ryan Foster (), Nathanael de Boer, Sam Crosby-Standish and Tricia Oei, and "When's Physicals" with Melissa Black (), Nathan Hughes (), Meghan McGrath () and Andrew Walker ().
 
The club had a strong showing on the first day with both teams proceeding to Priority Assessment (PA) finals with "When's Physicals" and "Fifty Shades of Neon" placing first and third respectively.  In physical relays, Waterloo continued its tradition of dominating in the Manikin Carry Relay with "When's Physicals" and "Fifty Shades" placing first and second respectively.  "When's Physicals" continued to dominate the events, placing first in every event.
 
Day two found the Warriors proceeding to First Aid and Water Rescue finals.  First Aid finals were a fun, Ghostbusters inspired theme.  The day ended with "When's Physicals" capturing first in both events. "Fifty Shades of Neon" finished the day fifth in First Aid and third in Water Rescue.
 
At the final count, "When's Physicals" and "Fifty Shades of Neon" placed first and third in SERC (Simulated Emergency Response Champions) - the top teams in technical events PA, First Aid and Water Rescue. Overall for the OULC competition "Fifty Shades of Neon"came fifth and "When's Physicals" in first.  With these wins, "When's Physicals" became the first team to ever sweep the competition coming first in every event.   This strong performance, coupled with consistent wins throughout the 2015-2016 university lifesaving season, allowed the Waterloo Warriors Lifesaving Cub to win the U-League banner for the third year running.
 
WWLC has won the Overall U-League banner six out of the last eight years since the league's inception.  This is also the third year in a row where Waterloo has won the OULC competition.
 
Thanks to everyone who competed along with all of the officials and volunteers that make the competition possible.
