Warriors go 1-0-1 in home games with Algoma, narrowly missing out on post-season

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Warriors needed to be perfect in a pair of games with Algoma this weekend in order to qualify for the post-season but came just short as the two teams battled their way to a 1-1 tie on Sunday at Warrior Field in what was a must-win for the black and gold.

With the tie Waterloo finished the season with a 4-9-3 record with 15 points, one point behind the sixth and final playoff spot occupied by Windsor.

On Saturday Waterloo earned the victory beating Algoma 5-1.  Jae Jin lee and Christoph Bruckeder (Waterloo) each had two goals in the win while Nicholas Riberio had the other.  Lee would finish the season with nine goals, the eighth most in the OUA.

The win set the Warriors up well for a post-season berth but it wasn't meant to be as the black and gold needed the three points to continue their season.  In their 1-1 tie, Patrick Aquino (Antigonish) netted the lone goal.

It was a season of up's and down's for the men's soccer program but there is certainly a lot of positives to look forward to heading into next season and beyond.
