Rookie sensation Lee lifts Warriors to win over Western

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
Only 48 hours after a dissapointing 6-0 loss to the Windsor Lancers on Friday night, the Waterloo men's soccer team showed some resilience in a 2-1 win over Western on Sunday with Jae Jin Lee (Toronto) recoring another two goal game.  Lee now has five goals on the young season, tied for second most in the CIS.

The win improved Waterloo's record to 2-4-0 on the season, good for sixth spot in the ultra competitive OUA west standings while Western dropped to 2-2-2 and are one spot ahead at fifth.

Waterloo's rookie striker, Lee tallied both Waterloo goals in a span of two minutes while keeper Hansel Paico-Avilez (Oakville) was solid in net stopping eight of nine shots faced to earn his second victory of the year.

Western made a strong bid for a comeback in the late going but could not find the equalizer as Paico-Avilez and the Warrior defence shut down the home side.  The win was Waterloo's first over Western since 2006 going 0-12-5 over that span.

The Warriors who have had a roller coaster of a season with lopsided losses but key bounce back games will look to stabilize things next weekend when they take on Laurier on Saturday on the road and then McMaster on Sunday at Warrior Field.
