Aborig pots three in Warrior victory over Ridgebacks

#20 Mohamed Aborig scored three goals for the Warriors

Third year midfielder Mohamed Aborig (Tripoli/) (Tripoli, Lybia) scored three straight goals in the first 28 minutes to lift the Warriors to their second win of the season.  Adam Craig (Toronto/Westside S.S) (Toronto, Ont.) and Billy Bean (Waterloo/) (Waterloo, Ont.) each added a goal to defeat the UOIT Ridgebacks 5-2.  Scoring for the Ridgebacks was rookie striker Justin Gordon (Pickering, Ont.) and Nikolas Pandikiu (Markham, Ont.)

In only the fourth minute of the game Aborig found the net and the Warriors did not look back.  Controlling the play and showing their 2009 form, the Warriors catapulted themselves into fifth place in the OUA (Ontario University Athletics) west standings.  The Ridgebacks who are newcomers to OUA men's soccer were unable to defend the relentless attack of the Warrior front line.

The Warriors (2-2-0) have started to find their stride and move the ball as a team.  The black and gold hope to continue their momentum as they face the powerhouse York Lions (2-1-0) at home on Saturday, September 18 at the CIF Fields.  Kickoff is set for 3:15 pm.  UOIT (1-3-1) host fifth ranked Western Mustangs who remain undefeated at four wins, and no losses.
