WATERLOO, Ont. - Golfers Abby Barker (Kitchener, ONT/Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate), Nathan Woodyatt (Orangeville, ONT/Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary school), and Lucas Chi (Markham, ONT/Unionville High School) have been named the W Store Warriors Athletes of the Week, presented by Imprint. 

Barker led the Warriors to a second-place finish at this weekend's Waterloo Invitational, hosted by the Warriors at Cambridge Golf Club. The architectural engineering major finished in third place individually with a total score of 152. 

"Abby was instrumental in helping her team earn a silver medal this weekend with her great play and leadership," said Warriors Head Coach Carla Munch. "Her scores of 77 and 75 also earned her an individual bronze medal." 

Woodyatt and Chi, meanwhile, led the Warriors to a gold medal at the UW/WLU Invitational, co-hosted by the Warriors and Golden Hawks at Rebel Creek Golf Club and Grey Silo Golf Club. 

The two rookies finished tied for fourth place with total scores of 141. Woodyatt shot a 68 at Rebel Creek and a 73 at Grey Silo, while Chi shot 71 and 70. 

"Nathan has been off to a great start in his first year with the Warriors having two under par rounds during tournament play so far," said Warriors Head Coach Tara Savoie. "Lucas played two steady rounds of golf in his first tournament outing as a Warrior." 

Both Warriors teams finished ahead of their Golden Hawks counterparts, earning the black and gold a 3-2 lead in the 2026-2027 Battle of Waterloo series. 

Waterloo's women's and men's golf teams are back on the course today at Cutten Fields Golf Club in Guelph, and will travel to Windsor for the Windsor Invitational on October 3-4. 

This is the second Warriors Athlete of the Week award for Barker, and the first for Woodyatt and Chi.
