WATERLOO, Ont. – Swimming's Alex Boden (Dundas, Ont./Westdale Secondary School) and Track and Field's Kevin Salaudeen (Belleville, ON/) have been named the W Store Warriors Athletes of the Week, presented by Imprint.  

Boden's work ethic throughout the season resulted in an impressive weekend at the OUA Swimming Championships. He finished third in the 100m Butterfly (53.62), third in 200m Butterfly (1:59:33), fourth in 50m Butterfly (24.56), fourth in 1500 Freestyle (15:56:27), and helped his team finish second in the 4 x 100 Medley Relay. Boden's consistency and discipline throughout his competitive career have seen him medal at 3 OUA championships and resulted in his receiving the OUA Graduating Athlete Award of Distinction for those accomplishments. 

"Alex leads with action, not words. As captain, he sets the standard through discipline, consistency, and an unwavering work ethic," said Warriors Swimming Head Coach Jacky Beckford-Henriques. 

This is Boden's first Warriors Athlete of the Week award. 

"Rookie Kevin Salaudeen (Belleville, ON/) was a joy to behold all season long. In his first season and OUA Championship debut, he proved he belongs on the big stage," said Track and Field Associate Head Coach Kate Bickle-Ferth. 

 His efforts saw him finish eighth in Long Jump and fifth in Triple Jump, all the while being the top scorer for the Warriors men with his 5 points. Salaudeen also qualified for the U SPORTS Championships in Winnipeg, being ranked 10th in Triple Jump in a season that saw him achieve a 14.41m triple jump, which is the 2nd best in Waterloo history.  

This is Salaudeen's first Warriors Athlete of the Week award.
