OSHAWA, Ont. – The Laurier Golden Hawks and Waterloo Warriors took home the crown on a rainy day two of the OUA Golf Championships hosted by the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.
The Warriors' women's team had an impressive weekend, carding a team total of 463 with several standout performers en route to their gold medals. Jadelina Tep-Chhun, Abby Barker (Kitchener, ON/), and Alyssa Jamal (Mombasa, KE/) all finished among the top five individually to lead Waterloo to the top of the leaderboard.
Last year's champions, the Toronto Varsity Blues, claimed silver with a total of 468, led by Mia Wong's 148. The Windsor Lancers rounded out the women's podium in third with a score of 483.
On the men's side, the Laurier Golden Hawks captured the team gold medal with a total of 585, led by Dayton Price's remarkable two-day score of 138, which also earned him the Len Shore Trophy as the OUA men's individual golf champion. The Queen's Gaels finished close behind in second at 588, while the Waterloo Warriors secured bronze with 597.
On the women's side, Toronto's Mia Wong was awarded the Judy McCrae Cup as the OUA women's individual golf champion following her strong two-day performance.
In recognition of their team success, Carla Munch of Waterloo was named OUA Women's Golf Coach of the Year, while Laurier's Jeff Colley earned the men's coaching honour.
