On Saturday, October 19, the Waterloo Warriors took on the Guelph Gryphons in a challenging home matchup. Guelph came out strong, scoring five tries and converting each kick to establish a commanding 35-0 lead. Despite the overwhelming pressure, the Warriors kept their heads high, determined to fight back.
Waterloo's breakthrough came from Daniel Muzaliwa (Waterloo), who charged through Guelph's defense to score the Warriors first try. Thomas Marshall Wells Richards (Toronto)Â followed up with a successful conversion, cutting the deficit to 35-7. While Guelph maintained control of the game for much of the second half, Waterloo's defense held firm, and they found opportunities to strike back late in the game.
The Warriors showed their resilience as Joshua Eustace (Brantford)Â and Kael Murphy (Kelowna)Â added two more tries, with Thomas Marshall Wells Richards (Toronto)Â maintaining kicking consistency securing both conversions. Though the final score stood at 66-21 in favor of Guelph, Waterloo's determination never wavered. As they look ahead to their next battle against the Trent Excalibur on Saturday, October 26, the Warriors will carry their fighting spirit forward.
