The Waterloo Warriors delivered an impressive performance at the 8Kay Marauder Invitational, with both the men's and women's teams showing resilience against tough competition. Hosted by the McMaster Marauders at Kay Drage Park, the winding grass course featured numerous twists and turns, adding a challenging technical element to the race.
Leading the Women's race for Waterloo, Paige Breedon (Barrie) displayed excellence, finishing first place overall with a time of 28:16.7 with a solid gap ahead of second place who crossed the line at 28:41.0. Next crossing the line for the Warriors was Olivia Vanleeuwen (Guelph) at 30:29.9, followed by Hillary Clark (Elliot Lake) at 30:55.7. The fourth Warrior across the line was Nicole Schindler (Waterloo) at 32:53.3 and the fifth was Claire Vernon-Pope (Hamilton) crossing the line at 33:47.4. This big effort from the team earned them sixth place overall.

In the men's race, Jacques Tiessen (Elliot Lake) led the team with a finishing time of 26:24.5 followed closely by Adam Huras (New Hamburg) at 26:53.1 and then Cameron Dean (Whitby) at 27:02.0. Crossing the line fourth was Henrik Petersson (Malmö) at 27:17.4 and then the fifth across the line for the Warriors was Jonathan Lysack (Brandon, MB) at 27:43.8. The men all collectively finished under a minute and a half of each other. This result displays the well balanced effort of the Warriors that generated a sixth place finish.
