After 3 days of very exciting competition the Waterloo Warriors claimed 3rd place in the Men's Division with 604 points and 5th in the Women's Division with 339.5 an improvement from 250 points in 2022.
With 65 Personal best times and 5 School records and Samuel Pei (Richmond/) and Kathy Ye joining the other 12 U SPORTS Qualifiers it was certainly a successful weekend for the Warriors.
Lukas Wormald (Kitchener/) was recognized with an Award of Distinction given to those who medalled at 3 OUA Championships and scored points at U SPORTS.
Alex Boden (Dundas/) and Lukas Wormald (Kitchener/) led the Medal winners with 2 medals each. Alex winning the 100 Butterfly out of Lane 8 with a time of 54:38 out touching Lukas who went a 54:45 for a Warrior 1-2 finish on Day 1.
On Day 2 , Lukas Wormald (Kitchener/) established himself as number 1 in the 50 Butterfly winning in a time of 24:34 just off his PB done at 2022 U SPORTS of 24:27. He also earned himself a 4th place finish in the 100m Backstroke in 56:31 and a 5th place finish in the 50m Freestyle in 22:89 all on Day 2.
Alex Boden (Dundas/) after placing 4th in the 200m Butterfly in 2022, moved himself into the medals with a 3rd place finish in 2:01:24 breaking his 2022 Record established at U SPORTS of 2:01:60.
In the 1500m Aidan Iapicco (St. Catherines/) maintained his 2nd place ranking in the OUA with a 2nd place finish in a time of 15:45:75 to break his Warrior record set in 2022 of 15:47:20.
Megan Frost (Point Claire/) had an outstanding meet with PB's in all her individual events, finishing 4th in the 400m Freestyle in 4:19:67 , 4th in the 800m Freestyle in 8:57:64, 6th in the 200m Freestyle in 2:04:95 and 11th in the 400m Individual Medley in 5:05:69.
Another Warrior Record went down in the Women's 50 Breast with Kaelyn Kelly (Thornton/) finishing 5th in 32:09 breaking Christina Ji's (Oakville/) record of 32:41 set in 2019.

A Warrior Record was also established in the Women's 4 x 200m Freestyle which was set in 2018 with the team of Jocelyn Van Leeuwen,Eloise Ladyman (Kamloops/),Tamara Shaw and Josie Andres.

14 Members of the Warrior Team will head to Victoria ,BC to swim in the U SPORTSÂ Championships from February 23-25.Â
