This weekend was a busy one for Warriors Swimming as they competed in a Tri Meet on Saturday at McMaster with Guelph and Mac. The meet was a long course which was a great opportunity to practice for finals at U SPORTS. It was also an opportunity to Qualify for Canadian Swimming Trials,
Lukas Wormald (Kitchener/) won the 50 Fly in 25:59 qualifying him for the 50m Butterfly at trials in April.
On Sunday, the Warriors competed at the Winter Invitational at University of Toronto, involving other OUA universities. Outstanding performance by
Lukas Wormald (Kitchener/) in the 100SCM Freestyle had him establishing a new Warrior Record surpassing Keth Beavers record set in 2009 with a time of 50:63 beating the old record of 50:83. There were several personal best performances which certainly put swimmers in a good place going into OUA's February 9 -11, 2023 at Western University.
