McCuaig and Beckford-Henriques invited to Swimming Canada's Para Development Camp

Warriors Varsity Swimming team member Cameron McCuaig (Kitchener/) and head coach Jacky Beckford-Henriques have been invited to Swimming Canada's Para Development Training Camp to be hosted later this fall at the Toronto Pan Am Sport Centre. The training camp aims to help athletes and coaches alike develop their skills in preparation for upcoming major athletic events, including the upcoming Paralympic Games.

Each camp being hosted this fall will only have four athletes and their coaches participating. It comes as no surprise to the Warrior family that Cameron was selected to participate in the camp. Cameron not only broke two Canadian para records during his rookie season (50 Backstroke, 100 Backstroke) in 2019, but he also proceeded to beat these Canadian records again this past season at the 2020 OUA Championships.

Jacky and Cameron will be working alongside NextGen Development Coach, Michel Bérubé. Bérubé has not only been a coach in Canada for over 30 year, but he has also coached Canadian swimmers at multiple major events including the Sydney 2000 Olympics and the 2011 Pan American Games.
