Box Score The Waterloo women's volleyball team wrapped up their 2016-17 season in style with a big 3-1 win over the Trent Excalibur on Saturday night in Peterborough.
The win snapped a 5-game losing streak and gives Waterloo a record of 9-10 on the year. With their 18 points the Warriors finished fourth in the OUA west and will take on the 19-0 Toronto Varsity Blues in the OUA quarter-finals.
The Warriors were led by
Kayla Wierts (Drayton) who had a massive game for the black and gold with 17.5 points. Wierts put away 17 kills on just 27 attempts and also had one block in the match.
Claire Mackenzie (Vancouver) was next in kills with seven while playing a solid game defensively with 11 digs. Rounding out the attack was
Mila Kostic-Damnjanovic (Calgary) who had five kills in the win.
Claire Gagne (Cambridge) collected 31 assists and 10 digs in the match.
