Warriors High Performance Strength and Conditioning Internship

The Warriors High Performance Strength and Conditioning Internship Program is now accepting applications for next term.
 
The UW Varsity High Performance Internship Program is designed for the student who is aiming to acquire practical experience in the field of high performance strength and conditioning to complement their academic course load. Upon completion of this internship, students would have acquired the skills, experience and confidence needed to be an effective strength and conditioning coach with high performance athletes.

The internship will be broken into 2 phases consisting of 2 years (2 terms per year) each. The first two years of the program would be the development of the coaching and programming skills required to work with a high performance team, while the last 2 years would be to work with one of the Varsity teams, while acting as a peer mentor for developing coaches. The internship program will begin with a 3-day (24 hours) weekend workshop to review prerequisite basic coaching and operational skills that will be required to begin working with varsity-level athletes. 
 
Prerequisites include:
- Enrollment in 1st or 2nd year Kinesiology or related health science program
- 1+ years of own individual training experience
- Standard CPR/First Aid
- Experience in competitive sport is an asset
