Box Score The women's volleyball team improved to 1-1 on the young season after a 3-1 win over the Brock Badgers on Sunday afternoon.
After dropping the opening set 25-23, it was all Waterloo as they would go on to the win the next three sets 25-10, 25-19, 25-19. Waterloo was strong from the service line with 10 service aces compared to just four for Brock while they also accumulated 44 kills as a team while Brock had 37.
Leading the offensive attack was rookie outside hitter,
Alyson Colpitts (Fredericton) who could not be stopped with a game high 18.5 points. Colipitts finished the match with 14 kills, four service aces and one block. Defensively the mechanical engineering student was also strong with eight digs in the match.
Also chipping in on the offence was
Casey Clunas (Harriston) who finished with eight kills of her own. Setter
Emily Needles (Thorndale) had a solid game for the black and gold with 36 assists and 11 digs.
Kristen Bartmann (Uxbridge) was also key in the match, keeping the ball alive on Waterloo's side with her game high 18 digs.
The Warriors now return to the PAC for six straight home games with their first coming against nationally ranked McMaster on Friday, November 6 at 6pm.
