Jamie Cook (Collingwood/) threw for 232 yards while adding a passing and rushing touchdown to lead the Warriors to a 48-7 win over the Carleton Ravens.
With the win, Waterloo improved to 1-2 on the season, spoiling the Ravens' home opener in the process. The game was the first in 15 years for the new look Ravens and the Warriors made sure it was one they did not want to remember.
"I am very proud of the performance of our team today," mentioned head coach Joe Paopao. "We achieved our goals and executed well to earn an important victory. It was a great day for university football in Ontario and hats off to Carleton for being great hosts and battling hard throughout the entire game."

Jake Fiorucci (Niagara Falls/) was the early story for the black and gold putting up 10 of Waterloo's first 17 points. Fourth year receiver
Nick Anapolsky (Guelph /) got in on the action as well in the first half with an 11-yard pass for the major. Anapolsky had a game high 12 receptions for 101 yards on the afternoon.
Also having a standout game for Waterloo was third year running back
Danny Silvestri (Waterloo/) who found the endzone twice and led all rushers with 138 yards on 15 touches. Silvestri had his way with the Ravens from start to finish and was the offensive player of the game.
The turning point of the contest came off a
Brandon Corelli (Sault Ste. Marie/) pick that he turned down field into six points for the visiting Warriors to give them a comfortable 38-8 lead. Cook would add a 26-yard rushing major to seal Waterloo's first victory of 2013.
The Warriors will now turn their attention to the battle of Waterloo scheduled for Saturday, September 14 under the lights (7pm) at Warrior Field. The winless Golden Hawks (0-3) will be looking to slow down the Warriors who hope to even their record at 2-2.
