Box Score The Waterloo Warriors went the distance with Windsor on Saturday night but came up short dropping the exciting 5-set match 3-2 (25-27, 25-14, 18-25, 25-21, 15-10) to the Lancers.
The victory moves Windsor (2-2) back to the .500 mark, and they are now tied for third place in the OUA West divison with the Warriors (2-2).
Senior outside hitter
Kaila Seguin had a monster evening for Windsor, picking up a game-high 24 kills as well as 16 digs and two blocks, while
Melissa Smyth and
Mackenzie Coyleadded 16 and 13 points respectively. Libero
Hannah Robson recorded a game-high 23 digs, and
Danielle Lenarduzzi notched 51 assists, also a game-best.
Outside hitter
Clara Tse (Hong Kong/) led the Waterloo attack for the second straight night with her 14 kills while
Natasha Spaling (Drayton/) and
Gillian Henderson (Ottawa/) each had 12.
Mikaela Klie (/) had 47 assists in the loss with libero
Kristen Bartmann (Uxbridge/) collecting 20 digs.
The Warriors will return to action on Saturday in their home opener when they battle Guelph at noon.
