Men's curlers remain perfect at Nationals after day two

Skip Jake Walker has led his Waterloo to a 4-0 start at the CIS Curling Championship
The Warrior men's curling team remain a perfect 4-0 after day two at the CIS Curling Championship hosted by Brock University at the Welland Curling Club.

The OUA Champions led by 2010 Canadian Junior Champion Jake Walker (Minden/) (Minden, Ont.), continue to roll as they seek their first-ever CIS/CCA national championship.

"We have just been doing what we have been doing all year," said Waterloo skip Jake Walker (Minden/). "We have been pretty successful in putting things together and making shots. It's all about making shots. We are going to take it step by step and the only game that really matters is that final."

Waterloo opened the tournament with a 7-3 win over UPEI on Wednesday night before a tight morning battle with Winnipeg on Thursday which saw the black and gold walk away with the 10-7 win.  Thursday afternoon's game was less of a challenge as Waterloo swept aside the Acadia Axemen 11-2 before squeaking out their evening game 9-7 over Manitoba.

The Warriors have three games remaining which include meetings with familiar provincial rivals Carleton Ravens and Brock Badgers.  Waterloo's toughest challenge will come against the 3-1 Alberta Golden Bears skipped by 2012 World Junior Champion Brendan Bottcher (Sherwood Park, Alta.).  Their game against the Ravens is scheduled for 11am this morning followed by their match up with the Golden Bears at 4pm.

The round robin wraps up Saturday at 9am before the semifinal games take place at 7pm that evening with the finals scheduled for Sunday at 2pm.
