Women's tennis split weekend games with York and McMaster

Saturday, Sept. 24 vs. York
York 4, Waterloo 3

Like their male counterparts, the women Warriors fell 4-3 to the York Lions on Saturday afternoon. Waterloo started well gaining the doubles point when #1 pair of Alison Drainie (Toronto/) and Paige Long (Claremont/) and #3 Courtney Winter (Toronto/) and Vanessa Diaconu (Toronto/) won their matches.
 
The Lions, however, roared back in the singles taking four of the six to give them the win. #1 Drainie and #3 Long provided the singles points. Drainie had a match point against her but fought back to send it to a tie-break in the third set which she won 7-2.

Sunday, Sept. 25 vs. McMaster
Waterloo 4, McMaster 3

The Warrior women's tennis team reversed their 3-4 loss against York on Saturday to beat McMaster 4-3 on Sunday for their first win of the season.
 
The Warriors won all three doubles matches easily earning them the doubles point. However, the Marauders were to prove more troublesome in singles. Each team won three of the six singles and with the doubles point, the Warriors were able to get the win.
