Chris Ray extended his point streak to 11 games and sits fifth in CIS scoring
Game Summary

The Waterloo men's hockey team scored three unanswered goals in the third period to double up the Windsor Lancers 4-2 on Saturday night at the Columbia Icefield Arena.  The Warriors have earned at least a point in their last six contests.

Rookie forward Justin Larson (Buckhorn/) scored the winning goal at the 3:48 of the third period, only 52 seconds after the equalizer by Chris Ray (Kelowna/) to give Waterloo the win in their final regular season game of 2011.

Justin Leclerc (Saskatoon/) continued his stellar sophmore season with 39 saves to improve his record to 4-2-0.  Windsor netminder Parker Van Buskirk (Windsor, Ont.) allowed three goals on 27 shots in the loss.

Waterloo concludes the 2011 calendar year with an impressive 11-4-2 record which includes a 6-1-1 record on home ice.  The Warriors sit in third spot in the OUA west just two points behind the Lakehead Thunderwolves and four points back of Western.  The Lancers fell one game below .500 in the loss with an 8-9-0 record, good for fifth spot in the OUA west.

Scoring for the Warriors was Andy Smith (Rosetown/) with his fifth of the season, Chris Ray (Kelowna/) with his ninth and Justin Larson (Buckhorn/) with his fourth and fifth goals of the season including an empty netter which sealed the victory.  Ray's goal extended his point streak to 11 games and the Warrior captain now sits fifth in the country in scoring with 27 points (9g, 18a).  Third leading scorer Kirt Hill (Winnipeg/) snapped an eight game point streak in the game.

For the Lancers Evan Stibbard (Windsor, Ont.) opened the scoring on a penalty shot with Christian Steingraber (Oregon, Ohio) notching the other Windsor marker.

The Warriors will now enjoy some time off before travelling to Montreal for a pair of exhibition games against McGill over the Christmas break.  Waterloo returns to regular season action on January 6 in Thunder Bay with a pair of road games against the Thunderwolves.
