Men's rugby downed by Badgers in OUA quarter-finals

The Warrior men's rugby season ended as the Brock Badgers defeated Waterloo 29-10 in the OUA quarter-finals Saturday afternoon. The No. 4 ranked Badgers now advance to the OUA Semi-Finals where they will go up against the undefeated Western Mustangs.

The Badgers led 17-7 at the half.

In the opening 10 minutes of the second half Waterloo put pressure on the Badgers and were successful as Richard Lebel (Waterloo, Ont.) added a penalty goal to make it a one possession game.

The Warriors would continue to control the ball, but it would be the Badgers Dylan Mundy coming up with a big open field tackle knocking the ball loose which Michael Lambert would pick up and run in from midfield for the try making it 22-10.

In the final 10 minutes, Connor Fitzsimmons would give the Badgers some insurance. After kicking the ball behind the Waterloo defense, Fitzsimmons would use his speed walking around three Warrior players and picking up us his own kick for the try.

Sam Rimmer continued to lead the Brock offense leading all scorers with 14 points adding two tries and two converts. Lambert, Fitzsimmons and Benjamin Harmer would chip in with one try each in the victory.
