The Waterloo Warriors took on the Laurier Golden Hawks in the Battle of Waterloo this Sunday, September 20, ending in a 26–10 loss.

The Warriors came out with energy and continued to battle throughout the match, creating opportunities and putting pressure on the Golden Hawks. Max Zhurba (Oakville, ONT/St Ignatious of Loyola) was a physical presence throughout the game, delivering big hits and helping the Warriors gain valuable ground down the field.

Daniel Nguyen (Guelph, ONT/Guelph CVI) and Laurie Skitt (Toronto, ONT/Lawrence Park Collegiatte Institute) made their presence felt on both sides of the ball, showing strong work with possession while making key defensive plays. Thomas Wells-Richards and Caelan Fernando (Owen Sound, ONT/SMHS) also brought plenty of speed to the attack, using their quick footwork to create opportunities and find the try line. IN the end, it was the Golden Hawks who prevailed, taking the first matchip in this year's Battle of Waterloo series.

Waterloo is back at home next week. Come out Sunday, September 27th, to support the Warriors as they battle against York.
