Saturday, Oct. 9 vs. Western
Waterloo 0, Western 0
The Warriors battled the number two nationally ranked Western Mustangs to a 0-0 draw on Saturday afternoon showing they can compete with the best in the west.
Western showed why they are one of the top teams in the countries with their relentless attack but keeper Rob McMillan (Newburgh/) stood on his head to earn his fifth shutout of the season.
The Warriors hope to continue their stellar play into Sunday as they face the Windsor Lancers.
Sunday, Oct. 10 vs. Windsor
Windsor 4, Waterloo 1
The Warriors once again proved their inconsistency with a tough 4-1 loss at the hands of the Windsor Lancers. Third year forward Mike Watson carried his Lancers on his back netting all four goals in the second half. Scoring two goals earlier in the season, Watson now had six and sits in fifth in OUA scoring.
Warrior midfielder Arman Grewal (Mississauga/) opened the scoring for the Warriors in the 20th minute of the first half and the score remained 1-0 in favour of Waterloo heading into the second.
Where it was tired legs or over confidence the Warriors would surrender four goals in the second half off the foot of Watson and Waterloo would give up a good chance to pick up some points in the standings.
The Warriors (5-6-2) now sit in fifth place with 17 points with three games remaining in the season. Waterloo travels to Hamilton to face McMaster on Saturday, October 16 at Ron Joyce Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3:15pm following the women's game.
