Jörg Ahne capped off his season in style winning the long jump gold medal at the U SPORTS Championship hosted by the University of Alberta in Edmonton this past weekend.  Ahne entered the competition ranked third in the nation and found himself sitting just outside of medal contention after four jumps.  On his fifth and final leap, Ahne blasted to a whopping distance of 7.34m (breaking his own varsity record) as the distance would hold up for top spot in the nation.  The third year PhD student concluded his incredible weekend with the second fastest relay split in the men’s 4x200m where the Warriors ran to a time of 1:28.62, finishing second in their heat, narrowly missing out on a bronze medal with a the fourth place finish.
