Naomi Lance (Kitchener, Ont.) put together a meet for the ages breaking two all-time UW records while winning two gold medals at the SPIRE Team Challenge in Geneva, Ohio. In the 400m race, Lance broke the record by more than half a second with a time of 55.54 to capture the gold medal. Later in the day, Lance once again succeeded in surpassing another all-time school record, this time in the 200m race. Lance ran to a new record time of 24.88 to beat out the previous record holder and two-time Olympic gold medalist Heather Moyse, cruising to her second gold of the meet. Lance now has five school records in her name and will attempt a sixth next weekend in the 300m.
