A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, Janet Cobbs Mulholland returns as an integral part of the Warrior coaching staff. In her fourth year as assistant coach with the program, Janet brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience. She was a two time All-American at North Dakota State University, was NDSU's first recipient of the Honda-Broderick Trophy in 1988-89 (an award signifying the Division II Female Athlete of the Year), was a bronze medalist in the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain as a member of the US National team, played pro volleyball in the U.S. for the Minnesota Monarchs and then in Europe for teams in Italy and Turkey, competed on the pro beach league in the US and entered the coaching realm thereafter as the assistant coach at UW-River Falls for seven years up until 2006. Cobbs' volleyball career took her around the world and back again and she has been recognized numberous times for her accomplishments in the sport. In 2003, she was inducted into the North Dakota State University Hall of Fame. In 2004, she was awarded the Athletic Achievement Award from Concordia Academy. In 2005, she was inducted into the Minnesota State High School Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. And in 2006, she was chosen to the 25th Anniversary NCAA Division II Volleyball Team.
