In 2010, Steve was Awarded CIS National Women’s Coaching Award for his work with the team having earned OUA Gold and a National Bronze Medal. A competitive curler for over 15 years, Steve's junior career was highlighted by a bronze medal at OFSAA in 1997 and a runner up position at the Northern Ontario Junior Men’s Provincial Finals. A valued member of the Warriors Varsity Curling Team from 1999 to 2003 (first as vice and then as skip), he was captain of the 2003 OUA silver medal team and led the team at the Canadian University Curling Championships in Regina that year. He first began teaching and coaching curling with elementary school students in 1998 and is NCCP certified coach and official with National finals experience.
