Coach Kevin Barnes enters his second season as the lead assistant coach of the men's basketball program. Kevin recently won a gold medal at the Canada Games this past summer representing team Ontario.
Kevin spent five seasons as the head coach and founding partner at Southwest Basketball Academy. He is also a member of the team Ontario U17 boys program as the lead assistant coach.
Before founding Southwest Academy, Barnes spent 5 years (2010-2015) working with the Western Mustangs as a U SPORTS assistant coach and prior to that spent 4 years at the University of Alberta, Augustana Faculty, as a student-athlete. In 2021 Coach Barnes founded the CKB Collective and has partnered with Xeist basketball to deliver skill training and camps across Ontario.
