Kyle Cole

    Defensive Assistant/Video Assistant
Kyle is entering his 5th season with the Waterloo Warriors. Prior to the 2022 season Kyle has spent 4 years on the defensive side of the football as a defensive, recruiting and video assistant with the Warriors. Kyle is transitioning this year to assist with the offensive line while maintaining his vital roles in recruiting and video. Kyle has had the distinct privilege and pleasure to be currently serving as the Defensive Coordinator and linebackers coach for the U18 women’s team Ontario that played in the inaugural Women’s Canada cup tournament in Regina this past summer. Kyle has also taken on the role of being the associate head coach and Defensive coordinator for the Guelph Jr Gryphons U18 women’s tackle football team that will play in the summer of 2023.  

Kyle began his Coaching career in 2012 as the defensive backs coach for the Brampton bears in the CJFL. Kyle made the move in 2013 to Alberta joining the staff at Bellrose Composite HS in St. Albert as the RB coach in 2013. Kyle was able to move back to Waterloo region and continued at the high school level as the Running backs coach at St.Mary’s high school in Kitchener.

In 2015 Kyle was able to make his break into the university football coaching ranks by being added to his alma mater as a defensive and special team’s assistant with Wilfrid Laurier in 2015 and moved on to be the football operations manager for the University of Guelph in 2016. Kyle kept true to his roots of football, coaching the varsity Cambridge Lions in 2016 as the running backs coach and Special teams coordinator to the provincial championship.  In 2017 Kyle was honoured with the opportunity to be the QB coach and Offensive Coordinator for the London Beefeaters CJFL before joining the Warriors in the 2018 season.

Kyle was born and raised in the Waterloo region playing his high school football At Bluevale Collegiate Institute as a part of the 2004 and 2005 WCSSAA/CWOSSAA championships. Kyle also made stops with the Guelph Bears (OVFL) and Tri City Vipers (COMFL). Kyle continued his playing career with Tri-City Outlaws 2011-2014 and was a part of the 2011 National Championship team. 

Kyle has been married to his beautiful bride Laura Ruth Cole for 6 years and together they are blessed with their Daughter Lyla Cole.
