Job Summary:








 

Reporting to the Communications and Game Day Coordinator, student broadcasters will be responsible for providing either play-by-play or colour commentary on live webcasts on OUA.tv

Responsibilities
  • Preparing notes (statistics, storylines, etc.) based on available information prior to games
  • Arriving 45-60 minutes prior to game time to allow time for audio checks, clarifying pronunciations, briefing with broadcast partner and the webcast coordinator
  • Providing eithe play-by-play or colour commentary during game action
  • Communicating with the webcast coordinator on replays, cuts to commercial breaks, audio levels, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:



 
  • Student at the University of Waterloo looking to build their resume and experience in a sports setting
  • Strong understanding of sports and sports broadcast conventions
  • Experience with webcast/broadcast productions is an asset
  • Experience in sports journalism, sports media, or a related field is preferred
