The Waterloo Warriors Women’s Football team provides an opportunity for women-identifying athletes to join our amazing football family and play flag football against other university teams in Ontario. We are a group of fun, dedicated ladies who want to develop our football skills, get active, and represent UWaterloo on the provincial scale. Do you think you got what it takes?
How does it work?
No prior football or flag football experience is required, just come on out to one of our recruitment practices! Our top-notch coaches will help you get a feel for the sport and see where your unique athletic abilities would be best utilized on our team. Just sign the wavier, bring cleats, a mouth guard, and you’re all good to go!
In terms of commitment, we have two 1.5 hr practices a week and you can expect to be playing on most weekends during the season.
During the season (winter term--January to April) we compete in up to five, one or two-day tournaments on weekends, with a championship game for the top teams to see who claims the title of #1! We are a pay-to-play team, meaning there is no annual or term fee to participate on the team, but you would pay for the tournaments you can attend.
The team is a member of the Ontario Women’s Intercollegiate Football Association (OWIFA) which strives to hold Ontario’s women’s university and college football teams to a higher standard of safety, inclusion, and athletic achievement.
