1. A parent or guardian must complete the online registration

3. Add all dependents to your profile under ‘add a family member’. You will not be able to register for camps when they open unless a member of your profile meets the age criteria for that camp

For Waterloo Warriors Multi-sport camp, the camp is open to campers aged 4*-12. Please note we allow those who are 4 years’ old if they have completed junior kindergarten and can you use the washroom by themselves. For those 13-18 we offer Teen Leadership Camps and Counsellor in Training camps. 

We have multiple groups per week with a maximum of 25 kids per group. We create groups based on age, usually 4-6,7-9 and 10+ will be together. Each group will participate in activities appropriate for their age group. We do our best to accommodate any requests to group campers together but, can’t always promise this. 

Multi-sport camp is 5 days a week which introduces campers to sports with the goal of learning how to catch, throw, run and most importantly have fun. 

Sport Specific Camps are focused on more skill development of a specific sport and will require all necessary equipment such as hockey or baseball equipment. These camps will do other activities like swimming and rock climbing but most of the day will be focused on skill development. 

High-performance camps are sport specific one-off camps that are solely skill development based and are not run as 5-day weeks. These camps are entirely focused on the specific sport. 

Leadership Camps are for pre-teens/teenagers with the goal of developing leadership qualities and have the opportunity to work with the Warrior camps in a counsellor in training role. 

Drop off is between 8 am - 9 am. For multi-sport camp, drop off will be in the Universities W Lot which is attached to the Columbia Ice Field building, there will be signage and tents set up for daily check in. You will be able to park in W lot for free at this time. 

Pick up is between 4 pm - 5 pm. For multi-sport camp, pick up will be in the Universities W lot which is attached to the Columbia Ice Field building, there will be signage and tents set up for daily check in. You will be able to park in W lot for free at this time. Early pick up is possible with a days’ notice, we will coordinate a pickup location as all campers may not be at the same location throughout the day. A physical copy of a photo ID is required each day for pick up. Please indicate on your registration form who is permitted to pick up the camper. This can include parents, guardians, grandparents, neighbours etc.

Campers should bring the following items to camp; all items should be labeled with the camper’s name and be in a backpack the camper can carry with them from location to location. 

• Clothes and close-toed athletic shoes (no sandals, or flip-flops) 
• A hat, as campers will be in the sun during the day. 
• A reusable water bottle. 
• Sunscreen is to be applied prior to the camp day and kept with the camper during the day for them to re-apply when necessary. 
• Swimming gear during the designated swim days which will be indicated in advance. We recommend campers have a plastic bag to put all wet clothing in after swimming.  

All campers should have a packed lunch and snacks for each day of camp. Waterloo Warriors camps have a strict no nut policy with lunches and snacks. On Friday of each week, campers will have the opportunity to get 2 slices of cheese or pepperoni pizza from our sponsor Dominos. The price for the Friday lunch is $5 for 2 slices and can be paid for during registration.  Please note that campers are not permitted to purchase food on campus or from vending machines within the facilities.

• Portable electronics (music players, iPods, video games)
• Collector/trading cards
• Personal soccer balls, basketballs etc.

Please ensure these items are not with your camper. Warriors Camps are not responsible for any lost or damaged items. 

We understand that things get misplaced. We collect all items we find and do our best to bring them out during drop off and pick up times for parents/guardians to identify the missing items. We advise parents/guardians or campers to advise us of any missing items so we can keep an eye out for it during the camp day.  We ask, if possible, for parents/guardians to put names on campers items.

Please indicate all necessary medication on the registration form. We are not responsible for administering any medication for campers. If medication is required to be administered by an adult, a parent/guardian will need to coordinate a time to administer it at camp. We can hold a camper EpiPen or inhaler if they are not aware of the purpose. In most cases we recommend the camper hold on to it. We have EpiPens at our facility service desk if an emergency occurs. The camp staff will administer an EpiPen in an emergency. 

The University of Waterloo Multi-sport camp will never turn away a camper for any reason. In all cases we will accommodate any camper needs as much as possible. Please indicate when registering any special needs or, any accommodations your camper may need. The camp coordinator will be in contact with a parent or guardian a week prior to the camper’s week of camp. Our goal with the questions we may ask is to find a way to ensure the camper has the best time possible while at the camp. 

Our counsellors are trained in courses to support special needs and programming for special needs. We meet to discuss ways we can alter games and activities to ensure all campers are able to participate in all activities. 

Waterloo Warriors camps want to be a fun and safe environment for all who attend. All camps have a strict no-bullying policy. We understand conflicts happen and our staff do their best to problem solve with campers. Counsellors are unable to see everything that happens during the day but do their best to handle difficult situations as they arise. 

If a camper has a behaviour issue, they may be asked to sit out activities during the day and a parent will be notified with a written incident report outlining the incident that occurred. If the behaviour issues persists you may be called during the day to pick up your camper. Behaviour issues may lead to suspension from camp or even removal from the camp all together for the week.  

If there is a camper dispute or bullying issues with specific campers, the first step will be to remove them from the group and place them in a new group. If the issues persist or there is not a suitable group to move them to, they may be removed from the camp entirely.  

In the case of an emergency, a parent/guardian will be notified immediately. All camp staff are trained in Standard First Aid and CPR and are trained in emergency procedures at all camp locations.  

If your camper becomes ill during the camp day, we ask for them to let us know after 20 minutes if they still feel ill, if so, a parent/guardian will be notified to decide if they want to pick them up from camp that day.  

We ask you please inform us prior to the start of the camp day if a camper is sick to know if we will be expecting them or not.  

Refunds will not be provided for illness that keeps a camper out of a single day of camp. 

All campers who are over the age of 6 years old will be permitted to do the swim test, which is 30 seconds of treading water straight into swimming 25 yards on their own. If the lifeguards on duty decide they have passed all requirements of the test they will be given a green wristband to swim in all areas of the pool by themselves.  

If a camper does not pass the swim test, they will be given a yellow wristband and be fitted for a life jacket. The camper will only be permitted to swim in the shallow end in the general area of a counsellor.  

Any camper who does not wish to attempt the swim test can be given a life jacket right away, along with a yellow wristband. 

Campers 5 years and under will be given a life jacket with a red wristband, and are not permitted to do the swim test, no matter their swimming abilities.  

If a camper has passed a swim test in a previous camp or week, they do not have to redo the swim test.  

if a camper has failed a swim test, they will be allowed to try the test again during the camps next swim day. 

Please pack your child a bathing suit and a towel to swim in. Goggles and any other swimming gear is not required but allowed if your camper desires. 

You do not need to pack your child a life jacket as life jackets are given out to any camper who want’s one. Our life jackets (flotation devices) are designed to keep children head's out of the water and to assist through rough waters following Transport Canada/Canadian Coast Guard regulations. We have various life jacket sizes based on weight, which the lifeguard will determine is most suitable for your child. 

The pool is kept at 81 degrees Fahrenheit.  

Almost all camp counsellors will be in the pool while swimming. As well as 3 lifeguards on the deck during each swimming session.  

Campers 5 years and under swimming are at a 2:1 ratio with a counsellor. Campers over the age of 6 and in a lifejacket are a 8:1 ratio and anyone who has passed the swim test is a 10:1 ratio.  

All campers will use the PAC general changeroom. They will have their own private area in the changeroom to change in and out of their swim attire. The option to change in stalls is available for more privacy. 

All campers who wish to swim, must be able to change themselves as counsellors are not permitted to assist them with this. They also must change in and out of their swim attire in a timely manner.  

We encourage all campers to swim, but at either the request of the parent/guardian or camper if they choose not to swim, there will be alternative activities led by counsellors who will not be in the water. This will be at an alternative location and not on the pool deck. 

If a camper is changed to swim and they decide they don’t want to swim while on the pool deck, they will be unable to be brought to the location of the non-swimmers.
