WATERLOO, Ont. - Waterloo Warriors Athletics and Recreation will be conducting regular maintenance as well as making some exciting improvements to our facilities and spaces this spring.
The first major project is the biennial arena shutdown, which began on April 6 and will continue through May 10. This will allow for mechanical improvements as well as a deep clean of the facility.
Also already begun is the replacement of the bleacher ramp at Warrior Field. Access to the ramp will remain closed until April 29, and be closed again May 11 to 12. This replacement will improve accessibility at Warrior Field. Warrior Field can still be used during this time.
On April 27, CIF will be closed for a power shutdown. The CIF fitness centre will remain closed through April 28 for the replacement of fitness equipment. The department has renewed a lease of fitness equipment with Matrix Canada. The PAC fitness centre will also be closed April 27 to 30 for the equipment change. Warrior Zone will remain open the entire time and can be accessed through the stairwell in the PAC main entrance.
PAC's main gym will also be closed April 27 to May 1 for repairs to the bleachers and score clock. The following week, May 4th to 8th, both PAC and CIF gyms 1 & 2 will be closed for screening and coating of the floors. This will also include the addition of a halfcourt line to CIF gyms 1 and 2. Please note the water-based urethane used in this process will produce a light odour in both buildings. CIF Gym 3 will remain open through the entire time.
Finally, starting this month and continuing to next April, work will continue on a significant mechanical replacement at CIF. This will cause occasional minor disruptions in the hallways of the facility. Additional information will be provided as needed.
