WATERLOO, Ont. - Track and Field's Ben Lemon (Waterloo, ON/) and Women's Hockey's Kara Mark (New Hamburg, Ont./Waterloo Oxford District Secondary School and Victus Academy) have been named the W Store Warriors Athletes of the Week, presented by Imprint. 

Lemon was a standout for the Warriors with a record-setting performance at York's Holiday Open. 

"Ben delivered an outstanding performance, placing 2nd among University athletes (3rd overall) in the 600m with the second-fastest time of his career," said Warriors Head Coach Kate Bickle-Ferth. 

"His time of 1:21.46 also broke the previous meet record in the event. Ben continued his strong day as a key member of the men's 4x400m relay team, running an exceptional anchor leg to help secure the victory. The relay team also set a new meet record, with Ben contributing to the team's fastest start to the season as well as his fastest season opener in his relay leg." 

This is Lemon's second Warriors Athlete of the Week Award.  

Mark backstopped the Warriors to back-to-back wins this weekend, extending the team's win streak to six games heading into the holiday break. "Kara was rock solid in goal," said Warriors Associate Coach Graeme Swan. 

She stopped all 16 shots to shut out TMU at Columbia Icefield on Friday night in a 3-0 victory. At Saturday's Pride Game at Woolwich Memorial Centre in Elmira, Mark saved 21 of 22 shots, leading her team to a 2-1 win and bringing her save percentage for the weekend to a blistering .978. 

 This is Mark's seventh Warriors Athlete of the Week award, and second this season.
