Box Score The final day of the Canada Field Hockey U SPORTS Invitational Field Hockey Championship would begin with the bronze medal match between the UPEI Panther and Waterloo Warriors.
The first quarter saw the Waterloo Warriors go to work just as they did in the game yesterday. Multiple chances and short corners would culminate in a goal off of one of those short corners by
Mary Lencz (Baden/) allowing the Warriors to take a 1-0 lead going into the second quarter.
The second quarter saw Waterloo take even more control of the game and this time they really began to take advantage on their short corners. First it would be
Meagan Hobson (Waterloo/) who would find the net after a great routine by Waterloo off the short corner, before
Isabella Beck (Kanata/) would make it 3-0. Her goal would come by way of a beautiful tip-in off another short corner.
In the second half the Warriors continued to apply some serious pressure and were not satisfied with the 3-0 scoreline as the would go on to add another 2 goals by way of
Georgia Murray (Waterloo/) and
Annika Johannsen (Oakville/) to defeat the Panthers 5-0.
With this win, the Waterloo Warriors captured the bronze medal at the FHC U SPORTS Invitational Championships to cap off a historic season in which they won their first OUA championship in over 20 years.
