Warriors Battle Hard but Marauders Secure a Late Victory

This Saturday, the Waterloo Warriors faced the McMaster Marauders in their final regular season match, eager to finish strong after a long season. The summer-like weather provided ideal conditions, as both teams took to the field with determination and a drive to leave their mark.

In the first half the Warriors made it clear they were ready to battle hard. Defending hard, keeping offensive pressure on, and using each possession tactically. At the end of the half the score remained 0-0 with a balanced shot count of 5-5 and each team with three shots on target.

Into the second half of play the Warriors maintained pressure and kept the Marauders chances limited. While also having many great chances up front by Nikolas Antolcic (Kitchener). Nearing the end of the half the Marauders netted two back to back chances to make the game 2-0. The Warriors battled hard in the final minutes but were unable to rally a comeback. At the end of the match, the shot count was 13 Marauders, 12 Warriors. The Marauders have secured an 8-2-2 record sitting as one of the provinces top teams and the Warriors definitely proved they could compete against them

After today's 2-0 loss to the Marauders the Warriors conclude their fall of soccer. The Warriors wrapped up their regular season with a record of 3-7-2 after a tough match. Throughout the season goalkeeper Lorin-Alexander Lopez (Toronto) had standout performances, making over 40 saves and concluding the regular season as one of the provinces leading goalkeepers for total saves made.
